Shane Joseph

Executive Coach

Shane Joseph has worked in the airline, travel, broadcasting, publishing, adult education, IT and diversified financial services industries in Canada and internationally for over twenty-five years. He held progressive management positions at American Express, managing large business travel call centres and retail travel offices, and later led global product development and innovation units at the executive level. He was adept at organizing start-ups and re-organizing existing operations for greater productivity. He has extensive experience in the Operations, Innovation, Product Development, Project Management and Re-engineering disciplines.

Shane is a former national president of the Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors (CITC) and earned Canada’s first Certified Travel Manager (CTM) designation in 1992. He was also a forerunner in the Canadian Travel Industry’s drive to the web by pioneering concepts such as online booking tools, procurement portals and online credit card servicing. He developed and introduced training courses for national travel certification at the Manager and Counsellor level. He has authored courses on using the Internet for distribution, and written papers on Sustainable Tourism, Marketplaces of the Future and Service Fees in Commission Based Industries. He has facilitated courses on Leadership to middle and executive management. Shane is now an independent consultant specializing in business strategy, project management and career coaching. He also owns a publishing company. He believes that he has been led to the mission of executive coaching by a career path that has gone from front line to corner office and back. He knows what it takes to get there, stay there, and move over gracefully at the appropriate time by opening new chapters to growth and development.
